Seacrets: Jamaica USA – Ocean City’s Iconic Destination Since 1988
Seacrets first opened its doors in 1988 as a private, members-only tiki bar with room for just 60 guests. What began as a small beachfront hangout has since grown into a sprawling Jamaican-themed entertainment complex with a capacity of 5,000 and an unmatched reputation for fun, sun, and unforgettable experiences.
Founder Leighton Moore quite literally built Seacrets from the ground up—expanding his own home on the property to create what would become one of the East Coast’s most unique destinations. Today, Seacrets features 17 bars, each offering its own atmosphere, from beachy and relaxed to high-energy and electric. While the Seacrets property continued to grow, as did the Seacrets brand.
Milestones & Expansion Timeline:
- 1988: Seacrets opens as a members-only tiki bar
- 2003: Ocean 98 (WOCM), Seacrets’ own rock radio station, launches
- 2012: First Seacrets liquor store opens
- 2016: Seacrets Distillery opens, producing award-winning spirits onsite
- 2022: Atlantic Beverage Center, the new flagship liquor store, opens
- 2023: AREA 51 opens – a versatile event space across two floors of scenic bayfront views—ideal for weddings, celebrations, business meetings, or just because
- Spring 2025: Hideaway, Seacrets’ latest business venture, opens – a refined dining and event venue located directly behind AREA 51 on 250 feet of private beachfront. Offering a focus on fresh, elevated cuisine and craft cocktails
